Có ai đã từng coi phim "The Singing Nun" (1966, Bà Sơ Ca Hát) chưa? cuốn phim nổi danh do nữ tài tử Katharine Ross thủ vai chánh kể lại chuyện Sơ Sourire dòng Đa Minh ở nước Bỉ (tên thật là Jeanine Deckers, tên dòng là Sơ Luc Gabrielle) đã sáng tác ra bài hát bán chạy nhất là bài "Dominique".
Và có ai đã từng coi 2 phim Sister Act (1992) do nữ tài tử da đen Whoopi Goldberg thủ vai chưa? bộ phim kể chuyện một thiếu nữ bụi đời bị bọn côn đồ săn đuổi, đã chạy lộn vào một dòng tu và phải giả dạng là một bà Sơ. Bà Sơ giả này sử dụng sở trường cuả mình (hát nhạc rock) trong nhà thờ và đã lôi kéo khá đông những bọn 'choi choi' đi dự lễ.
Ngày hôm qua (19 tháng 3), đã xuất hiện một bà Sơ Ca Sĩ mới. đây là một bà Sơ 'bằng xương bằng thịt', 'chính hiệu con nai vàng' chứ không phải là một tài tử già dạng đâu. đó là Sơ Cristina Scuccia, 25 tuổi người gốc Sicilia, nữ tu dòng Ursuline, là một dòng chuyên lo việc giáo dục các thiếu nữ.
Sơ Cristina đã dự thi cuộc tuyển lựa ca sĩ có tên là "The Voice of Italy," (Giọng Hát Cuả Nước Ý ), là một cuộc thi tuyển ca sĩ giống như các cuộc thi "American Idol" ở bên Mỹ hay là "Britain’s Got Talent" ở bên Anh. Cùng đi với Sơ có cha mẹ và bốn nữ tu cuả nhà dòng.
Không như cách thức cuả cuộc thi "American Idol", "The Voice of Italy" có một hình thức giống như các cuộc tuyển lựa ca sĩ bên VN, nghĩa là các giám khảo quay lưng không nhìn người ca sĩ, và chỉ quay ghế lại khi mà ông ta hay bà ta quyết định chấm điểm chấp nhận.
Cả bốn giám khảo đã xoay mặt lại, là một trường hợp hiếm có. Và hơn thế nữa, cả bốn giám khảo đã xoe tròn đôi mắt, há hốc miệng ra, khi nhìn thấy người ca sĩ đang hát bài "No One" (không ai) cuả Alicia Keys là một bà Sơ mặc áo chùng thâm.

Bài hát "No One" là một bài ca diễm tình đang thịnh hành, diễn tả tâm sự hoàn toàn tín thác với người yêu như:
"Anh và Em, chúng ta ở cùng nhau ngày đêm. Em không lo sợ bởi vì mọi sự sẽ trở thành tốt đẹp, người ta có thể nói gì thì nói, nhưng em chỉ biết rằng mọi sự sẽ tốt đẹp."You and me together

Cả hội trường hầu như muốn xập vì những tiếng vỗ tay reo hò tán thưởng nồng nhiệt.
Dĩ nhiên "Anh" ở đây, đối với Sơ Cristina là chính Chuá Giêsu.
Bốn giám khảo của chương trình là các ca sĩ Ý Raffaella Carra, nam ca sĩ J- Ax, Noemi, và Piero Pelu.
Nhiều giám khảo đã xúc động đến rơi nước mắt, Ca sĩ Carra hỏi Sơ Cristina có thực sự là một nữ tu không, và lý do tại sao Sơ đã quyết định tranh tài trong chương trình này.

Đức Hồng Y Gianfranco Ravasi, chủ tịch Hội đồng Giáo hoàng về Văn hóa, hôm Thứ năm, đả lên tiếng khen thưởng Sơ Cristina về việc chia sẻ tài năng của mình với những người khác, Ngài nhắc tới lời khuyên cuả thánh Phêrô trong thơ thứ nhất: "Mỗi bạn nên sử dụng bất cứ món quà gì mà bạn đã nhận được để phục vụ cho người khác (1 Peter 4: 10) ".
Một nữ tu “cháy hết mình” trên sân khấu The Voice của Ý
Sơ Cristina Scuccia, 25 tuổi, thành viên của Dòng các chị em Ursuline Thánh Gia, đã xuất hiện trên sân khấu của chương trình The Voice tại Ý. Giọng ca của sơ Cristina đã làm 4 vị giám khảo của chương trình The Voice nhanh chóng bấm nút quay lại và họ thật sự ngỡ ngàng khi thấy trang phục của thí sinh đặc biệt này.
Thông thường các vị giám khảo sẽ quay lưng không nhìn thí sinh và chỉ quay lại khi bị chinh phục bởi giọng ca của thí sinh.
Khi các giám khảo quay lại nhìn sơ Cristina, họ đã không tin vào mắt mình khi thấy một nữ tu trẻ đang hát “No One”, bài hát ruột của Alicia Keys.
Là một người gốc Sicily, sơ Cristina đã đến tham dự buổi biểu diễn cùng với 4 sơ trong cộng đoàn và bố mẹ của mình.
Bốn vị giám khảo là những ca sĩ nổi tiếng của Ý, đó là Raffaella Carra, J-Ax, Noemi, và Piero Pelu.
Sau khi nghe sơ Cristina hát, Carra đã nỏi sơ rằng sơ có thật là một nữ tu không và tại sao sơ chọn tham gia cuộc thi này.

Sister sister! You've never seen a nun shut it down like this one.
The judges of singing competition "The Voice of Italy" couldn't believe their ears when they heard Sister Cristina Scuccia belting out Alicia Keys' "No One," but they were in for a greater shock when they saw what Scuccia looked like.
Judges begin the show with their backs to the stage, and if they like what they hear they can swivel their chairs around-- but none of them were prepared for the sight of 25-year-old Scuccia, a member of the Ursuline Sisters of the Holy Family, delivering a jaw-droppingly good performance in her black habit and silver cross. As the crowd cheered, her fellow sisters jumped up and down in delight.
The shocked and impressed judges asked her if she was really a nun, to which she replied, "Yes, I am truly, truly, a sister."
A native of Sicily, she arrived at the show accompanied by four sisters from her community as well as her parents. “I came here because I have a gift and I want to share that gift. I am here to evangelize,” she said, reports Catholic News Agency.
"If I had found you at Mass I would always be in church," said J-Ax,an Italian rapper who is one of the judges. "You and me are like the devil and holy water."
She trended on Twitter after her unbelievable performance, with many Italians showing their love for "#suorcristina."
The judges asked her what the Vatican would think of her singing, to which she replied, "I hope that Pope Francis will call me now,"according to NY Daily News.

Singing nun shocks judges on 'The Voice of Italy' with rendition of an Alicia Keys song

Wednesday night, fans and judges of "The Voice of Italy" found a likely new season favorite during the blind auditions of the singing competition.
The moment Sister Cristina Scuccia, 25, stepped on the stage and began singing Alicia Keys' "No One," the audience members rose to their feet. Judges Raffaella Carrà, J Ax, Piero Pelù and Noemi each turned around, expressing their interest in the singer, and couldn't believe what they saw, bringing some to tears.
The audience began to chant "sister" as the judges composed themselves before Sister Cristina shared her story.
An Orsolina nun of the Holy Family from Sicily, Sister Cristina explained that she came on the show to share her talent.
"I have a gift and I am giving it to you," Sister Cristina said, according to the English captions on YouTube. "Shouldn't things be this way?"
Italian rapper J Ax was the first judge to turn around, and, after introducing himself, he asked Sister Cristina if she sings in church.
"If you do, they could pay taxes by the donations," J Ax said. "If I had met you during the Mass when I was a child, now I would be pope. I would have surely attended all the functions."
J Ax then tried to convince Sister Cristina to join his team and allow him to coach her through the competition by explaining how their differences would work well together.
"Me and you are invincible, you know why?" J Ax said. "We, together, are the Devil and the Holy Water! You have to choose me."
Sister Cristina has always loved singing, according to the video description, and as a child she dreamed of being a musician. But it was only after receiving encouragement from her mother superiors that she decided to participate in "The Voice of Italy."
When asked what the Vatican had to say about her audition, Sister Cristina explained her understanding of why she should be on the show.
"I really don't know, I am waiting for Pope Francis to call me on the phone," Sister Cristina said. "He always says we should go out and evangelize, telling God doesn't take anything away from us, but will give us more. I am here for this."
After hearing from each of the judges, Sister Cristina ultimately decided to choose J Ax as her coach because he was the first to turn around for her.
Many viewers were also touched by the performance and shared their reactions on social media.
"Just amazing," Paul Ringuette wrote on YouTube. "The reaction of the rapper judge was what made me well up in tears. There is a story behind him crying that makes the entire moment special."

(CNA/EWTN News).- Sr. Cristina Scuccia is a 25 year old member of the Ursuline Sisters of the Holy Family who has appeared on "The Voice of Italy," a reality show akin to "American Idol" or "Britain’s Got Talent."
Sr. Cristina surprised the four judges on The Voice of Italy March 19 with both her talent and her habit.
The judges on the show begin with their backs turned to the performer, and turn around only if they like what they hear.
As the judges turned to face Sr. Cristina, their astonishment was visible at seeing a young nun singing Alicia Keys’ “No One.”
A native of Sicily, Sr. Cristina arrived at the show accompanied by four sisters from her community, as well as her parents.
The four judges of the popular TV program are the Italian singers Raffaella Carra, J-Ax, Noemi, and Piero Pelu.
After her performance, Carra asked Sr. Cristina if she is really a nun, and why she chose to compete on the show.
“Yes, I am truly, truly a sister,” she replied.
“I came here because I have a gift and I want to share that gift. I am here to evangelize.”
According to the show’s format, when a participant receives the approval of the judges, they then choose which judge’s team to join.
Sr. Cristina chose J-Ax “because I told myself that if they turned around, I would choose the first one.”
J-Ax, who was visibly moved when he saw Sr. Cristina, said he was thrilled to have been chosen by the most popular participant on the show.
Sr. Cristina is trending on Twitter with “#suorcristina.”
Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, president of the Pontifical Council for Culture, used the hashtag in a tweet Thursday, commending her for sharing her talent with the Italian people: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others (1 Peter 4:10)”.
